For the fourth event by Amateur Hour, we're focusing on food deserts -- and what you can do to help eradicate them. What are food deserts? They're areas without access to fresh, healthy, affordable food, and they're far more prevalent than you might think. We're teaming up with the Lowcountry Food Bank to bring you a dinner event cooked solely with ingredients sourced from local food deserts. We'll discuss the consequences of food inaccessibility and what you can do to help, and a portion of your ticket price will go towards nutrition advocacy for the Low country Food Bank. Of course, this event will be fun, too -- especially since it will be hosted at Frothy Beard Brewery, who will have beer for purchase. We hope to see you there!
It’s hard to leave home sometimes—trust us, we know. But Ansley Commons in Ladson, North Charleston, believes it is important to not only stay active in your community, but to also express curiosity about new subjects. This event is the perfect opportunity to spread your roots and learn new things.
